For Rhone and California lovers

Two samplings for Rhone and California lovers this week at both Philippe's locations.

Tonight, come taste two Cotes du Rhone, both from the very friendly and appealing 2008 vintage. The first one is from the Domaine de la Garrigue - an over-achiever vintage after vintage - and the other one from one of the top producers in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation, ie. Domaine de Marcoux. The event starts at 5pm until 7pm at the downtown location. $5 fee.

Tomorrow night at the Ambassador location, an evening for California wine lovers! Four wines will make the line-up. Robert Mondavi Chardonnay and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon - the latter from the outstanding 2007 vintage, Napa Cellars Pinot Noir, and The Crusher Petite Sirah. Do not miss it! We will also have a nice selection of beers as it is the first Friday of the month. Two beers from Quebec - St Ambroise Apricot and Blonde, two from England - St Peter's Golden Ale and Cream Stout, and one from Germany - Erdinger Dunkel Weiss.
