For these who took advantage of that offer, we had a gorgeous Côtes-du-Rhône blend for under $11 a bottle. Today, from the same house, a Crozes-Hermitage from the same 2009 vintage.
The maison Delas, under the leadership of winemaker Jacques Grange, has seen a rise in quality over the last decade and it seems 2009 may well be their best vintage to date.
The Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes is made from 100% Syrah.

The red wines include the already bottled, fruity, rich 15,000-case cuvee of 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes. An amazing bargain, it is the finest wine they have yet produced under this moniker. Seductive notes of black cherries, cassis, licorice, tobacco leaf and pepper are followed by an opulent, consumer-friendly but authentic Northern Rhone to drink over the next 5-6 years.
